RECORDING:

BASIC:

The easiest way to record your content is to use a standard two-track cassette deck. Although a standard two-track cassette deck does not allow for any altering of balance upon recordeding, it is the most cost efficient method to record your content.

INTERMEDIATE:

A small budget of a few hundred dollars, will enable you to either purchase or rent a four-track or a multi-track recorder. There are two main types of recordings: a) analog (using a cassette tape), or, b) digital (using a digital hard drive). If you will choose the intermediate recording method, you will have the flexibility to overdub a track or add solo sections after you have recorded the basic track(s).

ADVANCED:

Record your content into a professional studio. Prices for recording studios vary. Basic studios may ask $25/hour, while professional studios may run over $100/hour.

MICROPHONES:

Microphones will play a significant role in the quality of your recording. Thus, we suggest that you use the best possible microphones you can afford. Consult your local dealer for the different types of microphones that best suit your particular recording needs.

TRANSFER AND CONVERSION:

Upon completion, you have to transfer your recording to a compact disc. You can either do it yourself, after you have converted ("ripped") the content, or you can ask a professional to do it for you. Schools can always have their students do the transfer. Many students are, now-a-days, familiar with "ripping" CDs.

NOTES:

Do not foget! If you decide to include copyrighted material on your CD, you may have to pay royalties to the owner.

If you pay a mechanical royalty for the content, or for each song, respectively, you are allowed to sell CDs of copyrighted material. Usually, there is a mandatory mechanical royalty in the amount of $0.071/song.

PROMOTIONAL TIPS:

E-MAIL PROMOTIONS:

Just judge by yourself... If you and your members/students/perishers each send out 5 e-mails to friends, parents or relatives, promoting the Fund-Raising Project you've joined, you could benefit from the selling of hundreds or even thousands of CDs.

The e-mail strategy may also involve the friends, parents or relatives of your members/students/perishers. At their turn they can also promote the campaign to co-workers and business colleagues. This could generate incredible amounts of traffic to the Fund-Raising Project Web Site (Page).

USE A PROMOTIONAL CD TEAM:

Tap into a 'street team' of marketers and promoters who will help you raise awareness for your CD. The 'street team' marketers and promoters will receive 5% of all multimedia CD sales for their efforts. Your group/school/community/organization will still receive 50%).

FLYERS:

C21ETV will create special flyers for you to print off, photocopy, and hand out to potential customers.

WORD OF MOUTH ADVERTISING:

Encourage people to support your fund-raising efforts. Direct them to the Fund-Raising Web Site (Page) with e-mails, coupons, or word of mouth.

ALTERNATIVE SALES METHOD:

Aside from selling on-line through C21ETV, you can also order bulk quantities of Multimedia CDs to sell them door to door, at malls, concerts or other events.
