The Chinese National Influenza Center's data reveals a concerning trend. Flu cases are on the rise, particularly in the north and south, with the H3N2 strain of influenza A taking center stage. In the week starting November 24th, a staggering 1,541 outbreaks of flu-like illnesses were reported, a significant increase from the previous week's 1,234 cases.
Wang Dayan, the center's director, warns that 17 regions have reached high flu activity levels, with others not far behind. She predicts that the flu season will peak in early to mid-December, emphasizing the need for prolonged vigilance.
